Officials and Teachers from ECO Countries met in Beijing on the sidelines of 2nd OBOR Teenager Maker Camp 2018 and Discussed Collaboration and Networking in the Region

A meeting of High Officials and Teachers of ECO Countries was held under the chairmanship of President ECOSF on 17 November 2018 during 2nd One Belt and One Road Teenager Maker Camp at Beijing-China, 15-20 Nov 2018. The meeting was attended by 15 Officials/Teachers from; Azerbaijan (02), Iran (05), Pakistan (04), Tajikistan (01), Turkey (01) and ECOSF (02), who were participating in the camp. ECOSF invited and supported jointly with Children Youth Science Center (CYSC) of CAST, the participants from ECO region to get the benefits of interaction/networking with other international organizations/participants joining the camp.
Objectives of the meeting were to discuss the coordination mechanism and networking among the scientific and educational community and support/collaborate in the field of STI. The Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) for STEM was the main discussion agenda.
During the meeting, President ECOSF welcomed all the participants for attending the meeting on a short notice. He introduced ECOSF and its aims, objectives, programmes and ongoing activities of the Foundation. The Participants also shared information about their organizations/countries especially with reference to Science Education. All the participants expressed their appreciation of ECOSF’s efforts for promotion of IBSE and Youth engagement activities in collaboration with its international partners including the Chinese institutions, and agreed on the high importance of implementing IBSE in schools.
It was concluded in the meeting that networking, support and collaboration between the organizations of ECO countries is need of the time and for this, the ECOSF can provide the patronage for active participation in the scientific programmes of the Foundation and member countries. It was agreed with consensus that all participants would promote the concepts and cooperation with ECOSF in their countries.
