President ECOSF Meets Acting Chairman of "Science Fund" of Kazakhstan in Astana - 15 Oct 2014

President ECOSF Prof. Manzoor H. Soomro held a meeting with the Acting Chairman of the "Science Fund" of the Science Committee under the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan, Prof. Dr. (Ms.) Yerkin TAZABEKOVA on 15 October 2014. Prof. Soomro was accompanied by the Deputy Chair of Kazakhstan's Science Committee Dr. Ms. Lazzat Kussainova; while Dr. TAZABEKOVA was assisted by the Managing Director of the Fund- Ms. Zhanna TUYENBAYEVA. Science Fund is a subsidiary limited stock company of the Science Committee.

After a formal welcome by Dr. Ms. Tazabekova, she gave a presentation of the Science Fund and explained that it was established in 2006 and has so far 22 projects of various nature, with focus on the projects where risk is involved so as to facilitate the young researchers and nurture a culture of scientific research in the country. The Fund also promotes science popularization at school and youth level.

Prof. Soomro, on his part highlighted the aims and objectives as well as plans of ECO Science Foundation and indicated a possibility of closer cooperation between the two institutions through the good offices of Science Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is playing a key role in promotion of scientific research and development. The Deputy Chair of Kazakh Science Committee Ms. Kussainova endorsed the possibility of collaboration and cooperation of Kazakhstan side with ECOSF. The President ECOSF was then taken around the facilities of the Science Fund.

At the end Prof. Soomro thanked the host institution and a group photograph was also taken.
