ECOSF President’s Speech at the Inaugural Session of the 1st Int. and 4th National Applied Microbiology Congress, University of Isfahan, Iran

The University of Isfahan, in cooperation with the Association of Microbial Sciences and Technologies of Iran, organized the first international congress and the fourth national congress of Applied Microbiology on May 14-15, 2025. The Congress took a special approach to producing bioactive compounds. Domestic and international professors, students, experts in related industries attended the event. Prof. Tayebi, President ECOSF as chief guest, attended online the inaugural session of the 1st Int. and 4th National Applied Microbiology Congress at the University of Isfahan, Iran, on May 14- 2025.
At the beginning, Dr. Zahra Etemadifar, Co-Scientific Secretary of the congress, delivered a report on the congress process and said there were 68 domestic and international speeches, and more than 340 posters were presented. Additionally, on the second day of the conference, coinciding with the economics and entrepreneurship panel, the 55th ‘Idea Show’ festival was held in collaboration with the Isfahan Science and Technology Town. The biggest assembly and networking event for microbiologists in the country took place on the sidelines of this congress. Professor Rasoul Roknizadeh, UI President, delivered his welcoming remarks to audience.
Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), delivered his speech online during the inaugural session, emphasizing the powerful role of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in addressing global challenges. Prof. Tayebi highlighted the significance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in applied microbiology for advancing medicine, agriculture, and industry. He said the the congress has provided an excellent platform to strengthen research networks, build capacity, and foster innovation-driven solutions tailored to regional needs. Prof. Tayebi reaffirmed ECOSF’s commitment to supporting initiatives that drive scientific progress and regional cooperation. Participants left the event inspired and equipped with fresh ideas for impactful applications in microbiology.
