Inquiry Based Science Education Program (IBSE)
The Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF) champions Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) as a transformative approach to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students. IBSE emphasizes hands-on, student-centered learning, enabling young minds to explore scientific concepts through observation, questioning, experimentation, and reflection.
Through workshops, teacher training programs, and partnerships with international organizations, ECOSF supports educators in implementing innovative teaching practices across ECO member countries. By fostering a generation of inquisitive learners, ECOSF aims to equip students with the skills needed to excel in the knowledge-driven economies of the 21st century.
The Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF) launched the Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) program in 2015, marking a significant milestone in advancing science education in ECO member states. The program was inaugurated with a Capacity Building Workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana in June 2015. Since then, ECOSF has consistently delivered capacity-building initiatives for science teachers across the ECO region, empowering educators to adopt innovative teaching methods that inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
IBSE promotes hands-on, student-centered learning, enabling young minds to actively explore scientific concepts through observation, experimentation, and reflection. By equipping students with essential 21st-century skills, the program fosters a foundation for knowledge-driven growth and innovation in the ECO region.
