High level Iranian Delegates visited the Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH)

Islamabad July 22, 2026 – The Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) had the honor of welcoming H.E. Dr. Hossein Simaee Sarraf, Minister for Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his visit to PMNH on 22 July 2026. Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President ECOSF, accompanied the delegation, which included Prof. Mehdi Abtahi, Iran Deputy Minister for Research and Prof. Ehsan Ghaboul, Iran Vice- Minister for International Affairs, and Prof. Mohammad Roshan, Senior Advisor to the Minister. The distinguished guests were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akmal, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Director General PMNH.
During the visit, both sides held a productive and forward-looking discussion focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in science and technology. The dialogue explored opportunities for joint scientific projects, exchange of experts and researchers, collaborative research initiatives, and professional cooperation between natural history museums and scientific institutions of Pakistan and Iran.
H.E. Dr. Simaee Sarraf also toured the museum galleries and exhibits, where he expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s rich biodiversity, natural heritage, and ongoing scientific efforts in conservation and research.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Iran to further strengthen scientific partnerships, promote knowledge exchange, and foster greater collaboration for the advancement of science, research, and innovation in the region.
