MSRT Delegates from Iran Visited PSF

Islamabad, July 23, 2026 – Delegation from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), Islamic Republic of Iran Visited Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) to Strengthen Bilateral Scientific Cooperation A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), Islamic Republic of Iran, visited the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in Science, Technology, Innovation, and Research. During the meeting, the Chairman PSF, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Akmal along with senior officers of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) welcomed the distinguished Iranian delegation, led by Dr. Seyed Mehdi Abtahi Forooshani, Deputy Minister for Science, Research and Technology, included Dr. Mohammad Roshan, Advisor to the Minister for Science and Technology; Mr. Rahim Motahehri, Second Secretary and representatives from Ministry of Science and Technology, Islamabad.
PSF Chairman provided a brief overview of the Foundation’s mandate, highlighting its role in promoting scientific research, innovation, and science outreach in Pakistan. Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, Member Science, PSF reviewed the progress and achievements of the two successful PSF–MSRT Joint Calls for Research, completed in previous years. The two sides also discussed the status of the awaited Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF). Draft of MoU has been finalized by the Pakistan side and is under consideration by the Iranian side.
