Islamabad, July 24, 2026 – Executive Director COMSATS, Amb Dr Mohammad Nafees Zakaria welcomed a high-level delegation from Iran, including Prof Mehdi Abtahi, Deputy Minister for Research (MSRT), Prof Mohammad Roshan, Advisor to the Minister and Mr. Mahmoud Hojjati, ECO Coordinator at Iran’s MOFA. President ECOSF Prof. Seyed Komail Taybei accompanied the Iranian delegation. Joined by officials from the IPOs & CCCS, agenda was to enhance Scientific Cooperation within the Commission.

During the meeting, the Executive Director COMSATS briefed the delegation on COMSATS’ mandate, international network and key programmes promoting ST&I for sustainable development. The two sides also exchanged views on expanding collaboration in research, Capacity Building and regional scientific cooperation, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening partnerships among COMSATS Member States.
