The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with COMSTECH, launched the first issue of the 2026 Journal of Science Communication and Diplomacy on 24 July 2026 in Islamabad. The ceremony marked two years of the successful publication of the journal.

The event was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, scientists, academics, heads of national organizations, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, COMSTECH, the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), the Higher Education Commission, the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, and other leading institutions

Prof. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, highlighted the importance of science diplomacy in addressing global challenges through international cooperation, research, and innovation. He emphasized that stronger collaboration among OIC member states can advance scientific progress and promote sustainable development.

Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch stressed that today’s global challenges require collective solutions. She underlined the growing role of science diplomacy in connecting science with foreign policy and encouraged greater scientific cooperation among OIC member states. She also appreciated the partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and COMSTECH in publishing the journal.
