18th European Conference on Earthquake Engineering (ECEE 2026)
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to three special sessions convened by the UNESCO Chair in Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience Engineering at UCL at the 18th European Conference on Earthquake Engineering (ECEE 2026) to be held in Berlin, Germany, 14–18 September 2026.
The special sessions are:
- Seismic Resilience of Traditional/Vernacular Structures: Focusing on assessment, preservation, and strengthening of traditional and vernacular building systems, including field studies, analytical and experimental work, and policy or guideline development.
- Advancing Resilience of Confined Masonry Structures through Research and Design Codes: Bringing together experimental, numerical, and code-oriented contributions that support seismic safer design and retrofitting of confined masonry, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
- Disaster Risk Reduction of School Infrastructure: Showcasing methods, tools, and case studies on seismic and multi-hazard risk assessment, AI-supported data collection, retrofitting strategies, recovery, and holistic improvement of school infrastructure.
Abstract submission for ECEE 2026 is open, with a new deadline of 12 January 2026.
