The field of quantum information science emerges from the foundational and often counter-intuitive principles of quantum mechanics. In this webinar, Dr. Memarzadeh will trace the key theoretical landmarks that shaped quantum information science. The webinar aims to explain how the immense potential of quantum computation is limited by the fragility of quantum states—particularly quantum noise; and survey leading strategies to overcome this challenge and move towards reliable quantum computation in the near term.
