On September 8, 2024, Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), visited the COMSTECH Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities (CINVU) in Tehran, Iran. During the visit, Prof. Tayebi was warmly welcomed by Dr. Karim Najafi Barzegar, Secretary General of CINVU, who provided an in-depth briefing on CINVU’s mission and activities. CINVU, a key network under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), plays a crucial role in expanding public higher education using smart technology. The network aims to promote justice, knowledge reliability, and empowerment in educational, cultural, and skill-based fields throughout the Islamic world.

In this productive meeting, Prof. Tayebi introduced the strategic initiatives of ECOSF and discussed potential avenues for collaboration in educational research and knowledge-based activities. Both parties explored a formal agreement aimed at fostering cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as virtual education, knowledge dissemination, and capacity building.

A key outcome of this meeting was Prof. Tayebi’s appointment as the Representative of CINVU for a one-year term. This appointment, decreed by the CINVU International Organization’s Secretary General, signifies a strengthening of ties between ECOSF and CINVU.
