ECOSF President, Tajikistan Ambassador Discuss Foundation's Future Plans

ISLAMABAD (August 20, 2013): Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF) Founder President Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro and Ambassador of Tajikistan His Excellency Mr. Sherali S. Jononov discussed areas of mutual interest on Tuesday.
 
The ECOSF President paid a courtesy call on the Tajikistan Ambassador at his office in the Embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad to move forward for achieving the goals / targets of the newly established regional organization.
        
The ECOSF President briefed the Ambassador about plans of ECOSF and invited the Ambassador to extend his Government's cooperation to implement the work plan of the newly established ECO regional organizations.
        
The Ambassador gave assurance of his full support to strengthen ties with ECOSF and undertake planned activities within the scope of already agreed priorities/ targets.
        
Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro has been entrusted / assigned to take the responsibilities of founder President of ECOSF with effect from June 3, 2013.
        
It may be recalled that Tajikistan is among the first ratifying members of the ECO including Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkey, Republic of Turkmenistan and Republic of Uzbekistan.
        
The direction and conduct of the ECOSF is vested in its Board of Trustees comprising the Ministers for Science and Technology of the Member States. The Board is currently chaired by the S&T Minister of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Zahid Hamid. Next meeting of the Board is scheduled for December 2013.
