ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) Hosts Panel Session on ‘Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development’ at Global B2B Expo & Conference

August 12, 2024 — The ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) co-organized a panel discussion on "Catalyzing Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development" as a sideline event at the Global B2B Expo and Conference. The event was held in partnership with the SDG Academy, Security Experts, Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA) and Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA), brought together experts from various fields to explore the transformative role of technology in advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The session was headlined by a keynote address from Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of ECOSF.  In his speech, Prof. Tayebi emphasized the critical importance of harnessing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and renewable energy solutions to tackle global challenges and drive sustainable growth. He highlighted that these technologies offer unparalleled opportunities to address issues like climate change, energy security, and social inequality which are central to achieving the SDGs.

Following the keynote address, a panel discussion featuring esteemed experts in technology and sustainable development took place. The panelists shared their insights on how innovative technologies are reshaping industries, enhancing climate resilience, and promoting inclusive economic growth.

Mr. Khalil Raza, Programs Manager for Energy and Climate at ECOSF also contributed as a panelist. He provided a focused perspective on the role of clean technologies in addressing climate change, particularly within the context of Pakistan. Mr. Raza discussed the potential of climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and disaster risk management technologies to build resilience and support the country's efforts in achieving SDG 13—Climate Action.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, where participants engaged with the panelists on a range of topics, reflecting the growing interest and urgency in integrating emerging technologies into sustainable development strategies.
