President ECOSF met with Managing Director NEECA and explored avenues for cooperation in energy efficiency space

On August 1, 2023, a meeting took place between Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), and Dr. Sardar Mohazzam, the Managing Director of the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA).

The key focus of the discussion was to explore avenues for collaboration in promoting energy efficiency practices. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to work together in advancing sustainable energy initiatives. One of the main areas of interest was the development of regional projects centered around the Water, Energy, Food Nexus, recognizing its vital role in addressing environmental challenges.

In addition, avenues for Capacity Building Events were also on the agenda, aiming to enhance capabilities in energy conservation and sustainability practices and bolster knowledge-sharing and expertise between the two organization. Besides, Mr. Sabieh Haider, Director Strategy and Planning NEECA, Ms. Saima Shafi from NEECA and Mr. Khalil Raza, Programme Manager Energy and Climate, ECOSF also took part in the meeting.

The meeting ended on positive note indicating a promising step forward in fostering energy efficiency and conservation efforts in the ECO region.
