President ECOSF visited University of Sistan and Baluchestan

April 17, 2024 - Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of ECOSF, traveled to Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, to attend a one-day meeting at Sistan and Baluchestan University (USB). The invitation was extended by the President of USB, Prof. Gholam Reza Rezaei. Dr. Ali Ghannadi and Dr. Ehsan Sheikhoun from MSRT accompanied President Tayebi on this trip. Representatives from Kerman University, Hormozgan University, and Zabol University also attended the meeting, which was hosted by USB.
At the beginning, Prof. Rezaei warmly welcomed President Tayebi and the other participants expressing USB's willingness to cooperate with ECOSF on leading scientific projects in the ECO region. Dr. Ahmad Nasseri, Director of the International Office at USB, delivered an introduction to USB's capabilities and facilities, highlighting opportunities for collaboration in the region. Other representatives then introduced their respective institutions.
In his presentation, Prof. Tayebi discussed the primary goals, initiatives, and activities of ECOSF, which focus on fostering and financing interdisciplinary research collaborations, promoting science to the general public, and coordinating innovation, technology, and science policies among the ECO member nations. Through these goals and initiatives, ECOSF serves as the catalyst for science and technology for sustainable development in the ECO Region.
In the afternoon session, the participants discussed ways to collaborate at the regional level. They emphasized the importance of joint events in hybrid formats and the execution of joint projects on current regional issues such as water, climate change, and sustainability. At the end, President Tayebi invited the institutions to participate in the ECO TTEC.
The University of Sistan and Baluchestan is an Iranian public university headquartered in Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran. It is the second-largest university in Iran and the largest university in the province, with two campuses in Iranshahr and Chabahar.
