World Water Day 2024 Commemorated with Focus on "Water for Prosperity and Peace"

Islamabad, July 9, 2024 – The ECO Science Foundation in partnership with the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), UNESCO, UN-Habitat, UNICEF, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), and Islamic Relief Pakistan, celebrated World Water Day 2024. The event, themed “Water for Prosperity and Peace,” brought together key stakeholders and experts to address pressing water-related issues impacting Pakistan and the wider region.
Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of ECOSF, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the critical role of scientific and research tools in generating credible data for informed decision-making. He highlighted ECOSF’s commitment to bridging policy-practice gaps through regional dialogues, promoting confidence-building among key stakeholders.
Mr. Khalil Raza, Programme Manager for Energy and Climate at ECOSF, participated as a panelist in a roundtable discussion. He focused on the energy-water-food nexus, advocating for increased research and development in technological advancements to support effective water governance. The event underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing water challenges, aligning with the global mission of achieving sustainable water management for prosperity and peace.
