ECOSF participated in the 2024 Zhongguancun (ZGC) Forum and Contributed to the Panel Discussion on ‘Green Energy and Green Finance for Sustainable Society’

ECOSF participated in the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum – Reflecting the theme of "Innovation: Building a Better World, held in Beijing on April 26, provided a platform for renowned experts from around the world to delve into innovative solutions and foster partnerships in these critical fields. This year's forum featured a diverse range of events aimed at promoting collaboration and exploring cutting-edge advancements in science and technology.

 

The Forum, jointly organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Energy Administration, gathered experts from renowned institutions and industry leaders to discuss the implications and applications of energy storage and hydrogen technology within the context of the dual carbon strategy.

On behalf of the Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF), Engr. Khalil Raza, Programme Manager Energy and Climate ECOSF, was invited to participate in this prestigious event by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST).

During the Forum, Mr. Khalil Raza contributed to a panel discussion on Green Energy and Green Finance for a Sustainable Society, hosted by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO). Mr. Raza shared insights and perspectives alongside other esteemed experts, including Prof. Lan Hong, Deputy Director of the Eco-Finance Research Centre at Renmin University of China; Mr. Bernard Mendia, Secretary-General of the Portuguese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CPCCI); and Mr. Kirill Borisovich Zalessky, Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Belarus High-Tech Park. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Zhao Jia, Deputy Editor-in-chief of Yicai and Editor-in-chief of YiMagazine.

During the panel discussion, Mr. Raza underscored the global challenges stemming from climate change, resource depletion, and food insecurity. He highlighted the critical role of a Green Design Framework and Standards in addressing these challenges while ensuring the sustainability of future expansion.

ECOSF's participation in this influential forum was made possible through the continuous support and efforts of Prof. Di Yuna, Director of the BTBU-ECOSF Joint Training Center and Ms Li Yushan from BAST which was instrumental in ECOSF's meaningful engagement at the forum.
